THE CRYSTALLINE LENS
The crystalline lens is an elliptical structure in the eye that focuses light onto the retina. This flexible membrane enables the eye to focus on near or distant objects by naturally adjusting its shape. As the crystalline lens does on a biological level, this series of photographs—which bears the same name—encourages us to draw a parallel to our innate ability to mentally shift our focus and perception.
