Wood Element

In traditional Chinese medicine spring is associated with the wood element, which embodies birth, growth, and development.  An expression of this time when once dormant trees shed their winter coats and burst forth with new life. Sap starts its journey from the roots surging through the trunk and finally reaching the branches through grand design. This seasonal phenomenon is amplified by the warmth of solar exposure and camera gestures.

Mirroring these images by design in triptych panels modify the perception of birth, growth and development through symmetrical balance of opposing reflections.
